D Boone: are you satisfied with you Canon EF 75-300mm & Canon 50mm f1.8?

(exactly thinking of buying, is your 75-300 is with image stabilization?)

nice,
the cat images looks a bit soft,
the dog images are nice also.
I like the snail images, focus was on the shell..
play around with manual and auto focus. I tend to use autofocus, to get the lock on the target, then switch to manual to focus where I want on the target.

keep shooting..
that's what I do.

dreamer, yeah, I love the 50mm. Its great for portrait shots. As far as the 75-300, no mine is not the IS version. Here is a couple shots with it...

I am satisfied with it. I think its a lot of reach for the money, but! and there is always that but... you do have to have a lot of light for it, and on some photos, when viewed at 100% look a little more blurry than I would like, guess the IS version would problably help fix that. If you want more examples, especially ones where I felt a little let down, I will post some, let me know.
