Another catching up post…

Derek Trucks, one of the most critically acclaimed guitarists out there, came to Burlington, VT to close out the 2007 Lk. Champlain Maritime Festival. Derek, who is in the Allman Brothers Band, plays a mostly jazz influenced set when fronting his own band. Don’t go expecting long guitar jams…each of the players gets time to solo within a jazz framework.

For such a great guitarist, it is a bit disappointing that he basically stands still lets his fingers do the talking. I would have liked a bit more action and excitement from him but since he didn’t ask my advise, he did what he does well…play that guitar.

As always, comments and critique are encouraged.

Great detail, and your usual sharp, well composed framing...

(We're getting our first snow tonite...how about you?)
