so cheap... like $275 cheaper then the canon brand one... anyone use one before?

Nothng to see with. It's only a trigger. They even state it clearly:
"syncs with camera's shutter release and triggers any optical (light-sensitive) slave flash or any studio strobe with built-in slave. It will not work with any flash that works only with a relevant transmitter or it has a built-in receiver or switchable channels."

exactly... just a trigger, so i could use it to fire my alienbee strobes rather then get a radio slave or getting the canon IR module @ $300
