Just now we only see EF-S 60mm Macro but no new additions to EF lens line-up! What's a pity!
I expect Canon will release at least 2 EF lens, probably based on the DO or something.

I am bummed out over this. I thought sure Canon would introduce some new/upgraded lenses. The 60mm Macro is nice, but I want More.

Yeah and I'm not too excited about the DO line. The 70-300 seems decent, but the image quality on the 400 f4 DO is definitely not worth the price tag.
I'm holding out for a sub-$1000 400mm f1.8 IS. And I want it made out of a carbon fiber shell. :)

400mm f/1.8 IS for sub-$1000? with carbon fiber... wow... considering the 400mm f/2.8 IS is already 7k. I don't see how a 400mm f/1.8 IS would even be under 1k.

I have the 70-300DO lens, and it's definitely a good, sharp lens. Unfortunately, it's waaaay too expensive for what it does. I wouldn't give it up, though, so maybe it is worth wht they're asking, at least to some people.
I'd love to have that sub-$1000 400 f/1.8IS. They better do more than make it out of carbon fiber, though. They better put wheels on it and fill it with helium.

Based on another thread that made the rounds a couple of days ago, you wouldn't even be able to buy the hood for under $1K!

I have the 400 DO and must say that the quality very good on my issue. I got it used at pretty respectable price.

Yeah, Sheldon, we know the story.
You're very lucky it didn't cost a lot more than it did.
BTW, I hear you're recovering from a poorly executed full-gainer with a two-and-a-half twist.  (next time, I suggest doing it into water).
Are you mobile yet?

Ok, let me ask this...what is the big deal with the 60mm Macro? I would think the 100mm would be all around better. And, it'd be an even bigger plus for those people that take pictures of jumpy insects that like to sting.

It may have something to do with the fact that the 100mm macro gives a 100%-sized image on a 35mm frame. Using a 1.6X crop factor, the 60mm lens would create an image on the sensor that would fill roughly the same amount of the image as the 100mm on a full frame sensor.
Just a guess.
