The shots are too tight for me too Gary,but 3 and 5 look sharp as razors ,would love to see them less tight and in colour. BW ,does not do these justice.
Any chance ?

I think these would be better in color,might be just because im not used to see this type of photos in BW.

Uncomfortably tight in the frame and 1 and 2 are awkwardly placed too. The B+W treatment can work well with classics but it doesn't go so well with the moderns.

I have got some shots wider but i got there too late to look round and got in a rubbish position in the morning there were only about 3 classics that were really going for it, in the end i got bored, thats the first time i have been bored at a rally

Cheers Chris your right 300F2.8 and 1D mk1 this combo hardly ever get any out of focus
