I was down south on Presidents day and left my snow and cold for just cold. I took a out of the way side road and found this Bison bull near the ridge line . . . I could not resist the shot. Perhaps a tad far, stretching even the reach of the attached 1.4 TC, but somethings you just shoot nonetheless. Please don't be too rough on me . . . instead enjoy the lofting breeze and the retreating warm rays of the winter sun setting behind a grey cloud bank for the day, the blue sky promises a hint of spring on the morrow. I did see some small clumps of green grass for the grazers to find.

Nice photo. It looks like a watercolor painting. I like the clouds.
Thanks,
Maz

Yes my wife noted the same thing . . . that it has an appearance of being a pastel watercolor. Light and defusing of light along with the compression of a long lens setup perhaps? I am unsure. I do suppose I owe you a cleaner and closer shot from the day, so here is a young gun.

Same setup as above.

About the first photo...
If there is enough detail in the original image, we expect to see that hanging on a museum wall in Cody.

Thank you Bob . . . you comments mean a lot to me as I wend my way back into photography. I often get stuck between 'sharp' photos to prove the glass/user is good and 'art' which at times is not always the best photography. My friend paints wildlife and as I watch his work come to completion, and his medium change from oil to chalk, to pastel watercolors . . . I get to see and learn what 'real' wildlife artists compose. So at times I mimic him in style as best I can with my camera. Of course it is not the same but has a feel to it in my own way.

I thought this one would get hammered big time, but I like what I like and try to post for me and not for acceptance. One can not go wille-nille trying to please the crowd, yet you can learn a great deal here . . . if you watch and listen. I have picked up a lot in the time I have enjoyed here to this point.

My thanks to all . . . if it suites your style or not . . . there is the second photo to pick up the slack.

I love the first one-the BIG SKY is soooooo Wyoming-ish to me. That is something I enjoy while we are in the west. Way too many trees to block the view here. Good job, and thanks for posting it.
