How much experience and what type of gear do you have? You need to walk before you run. Generally to get a media pass to a show like this you would need to be shooting for a paper or magazine or something.
If you really want to start shooting concerts, you need to build up some experience and connections...and that usually means starting on a smaller scale.

In that case, you have some portfolio?
Contact the band, and ask for credentials maybe?
Or (probably easier) find out if there's a (local / web) magazine that covers the show, and contact them to see if they need a photographer.
Alternatively: Contact the venue and ask if you're allowed to bring a camera as "Joe Public" some venues will, some won't allow (also depending on the band).
I've shot shows under a three song rule, no flash allowed, while in the audience a lot of people were using DSLR's with (built in) flash for the entire show, and no one minded. (at least: not the security). Then again, I've also seen people with point and shoots being reprimanded by security at other shows ;)

You could also try a local promoter/sponsor like a radio station. They may want photos and may be able to get you a pass.
Personally, if I am not working for anyone and just trying to get a pass I usually go through the band promoter or record label. They generally will want the photos published somewhere and sometimes will want a review as well. It is best to contact people well in advance, because communication may not happen too quickly while people are on tour.

Contact people as soon as you can. Keep a record of your communications. Ditto on the above suggestions.
And...
Understand that even if you do everything right and get permission, things happen beyond your control and you might still not be able to shoot the show. That is just part of the world we live in.
