It's nice that many new members are introducing themselves to POTN, but is 'Forum Talk' the correct place for them to do it?
Since there is nowhere else, maybe there should be a new "Introduce Yourself" section?
Just a thought.

I was thinking the same thing...
There were always a couple of posts here in the past, but recently about 50% of posts here are new members introducing themselves (not that I have anything against this! :-) ).
For a lot of new members, a 'new member forum' and a cheery welcome message can make it easier to get chatting about their photography interests etc. and get a 'feel' for the place.

I just joined the other day and I used this thread to make my first post. I like to have a few post under my belt on a new forum before I jump into the deep end. So far I have found this site to be very informative:D

I don't think I would look in a "New Members" area very often. At least if they're posted here or in the Lounge area I'll pop in and say hi.

Thats exactly the reason why there is no such forum. We want new members to mix with the regulars and not be isolated in a seperate section.

As I said, it was "Just a thought."

With 12 'new member' posts on the first page you could always re-name this forum... No? :-)
