i did the f/16 pic and saw some spots of dust on the pictures. verified that it's not any of my lenses, so...
anyone know a place that does drop off to service the sensor? i'm a noob and don't want to attempt this my first time (and the fact i don't have proper equip)? :o

AcuraFan, are you using a 1D (not 1DMKII)? 1D CCD sensor is more easier to attract dust and you may need "frequent" cleaning. You may have to learn to clean it yourself simply by a blower. I hope that the camera cleaning services centre can show you how to clean it yourself, if you're really scared to do so.

My camera repair shop will clean sensors. They want $150 everytime they clean it. If I get all 5 of my digital SLR's cleaned once a month for a year, it will only cost me $9000.....wow, what a deal!!!!!!!!!!

Glad it worked out. Nippon does excellent camera repair work...been using them for about 10+ years or so. They are kinda weak on fixing large format lenses though.

Is it me? Out of "fear" I've never cleaned my sensors. Not on my D100 (nikon, that dirty word), my 10D or now my 20D. I try to be sure that lens changing is accomplished very quickly. I immediately place the body cap on top of the camera when removing one lens while readying the next. I've never noticed dust in my pics. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough.
