Yet another trip to the lake

Caught a few shots at Soddy Lake this afternoon. Here's a couple. Hopefully, PBase won't let me down.

This feller seemed determined in his direction:

Yes, #2 did catch my eye as well. He was ahead of me in my lens, so I was lucky to get him.

I re-cropped the wing-to-the-water shot. I think its a better crop in "portrait" orientation:

Great photos!
I specialy like the 2nd and 3rd. The crop on the first version of #2 works better for me, maybe because the bird is not centered, though the reflex vs the bird is. But it's just my opinion.

Thanks, Jaime. I would like #1 better if the background weren't so busy - I should have opened the aperture up a bit, since the trees were too close behind the bird to get blurred out nicely. I suppose I could PS it, but I'd rather just go back to the lake and try again! :)
