I have a compatibility issue somewhere with my camcorder / firewire card (Kouwell 1582V) / computer / operating system / video software (Ulead). I think I've covered the bases here :)
The firewire card shows up working properly as "VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller" in the system devices. Microsoft's compatibility website has blessed the Canon ZR 25mc as compatible.
The problem is that I can't seem to get the Camcorder to be reconized under "image devices" or "sound, video and game controllers' or anything. It does however show DV IN on the camcorder when I plug it in. I've tried suggestions having the camcorder on first before the computer, but that doesn't seem to help.
Any other suggestions?

The computer happens to be a gateway pentium 1.4 gig with 640 meg of ram and at least 20 gig of free space.
