Antilocapra americana . . . or also known as good old Pronghorn Antelope 'round these parts. I found this hurried group of fifteen to twenty Pronghorn caught out on the open between a high chain link fence and three coyotes who were working them from the sage. They were darting back and forth along the ridge line . . . not knowing to go up or down. I think you can see or perhaps even feel the tension in the photo . . . sorry the quality is a bit soft, but nature comes at you fast. Be ready, lol.

How fortunate you are to be able to capture these. I've never seen any of these in the wild. Good job!

You have the good equipment for antelope. In my experience, they like to maintain a certain distance and just watch you. That 100-400 will nail them every time. Good work.

I tease that I need that 1200mm . . . because out here, everything is a long ways away. I think my 100-400 is to me what a 24-70 is to everyone else. I think I will consider taking donations toward my new 80K lens, lol.
These were very skittish . . . I hope to get a clean shot asap. I know where the coyotes are drinking now though, lol. Perhaps they will be next to have my lens spot them? Thanks for the kind words guys.
