This vista view of a lone tree on a small plain of winter dried grasses, overlooking the water. Sky and lake becoming one, defining one from the other . . . stark, beautiful, inviting, warm or cold? The birds gather here to exchange small talk and such. The earth has such beauty everywhere, all we need do is look to see it.

I like it!

Odd lens combo used to get it,. but it certainly worked out just lovely!

With the compression one can achieve with the effective length of the rig . . . and from where I was standing, it was one of those that you say, "remember where we are and what I just shot." Because it does not look like what 'we' see, a metamorphous of the elements if you will. Using the DOF view I 'got the tree' and the fore and aft are forced to blend and mend into each other. I just love what the 'L' glass will let one do and or compose.

So . . . thank you CDS for your kind words and the hot tip on the lens.

Very nice scene. Where's all the snow? LOL

Looks like a painting instead of a photograph. I like it, too. Have you taken the 100-400mm off yet? LOL.

Well I took the 100-400 off for a little while . . . once. Don't know when it will happen again. As to the snow, if you don't see it in my pictures, I am not at home. This is down south where it is still a bit chilly but they don't have snow that stayed this year . . . I hate them btw, lol.

I think I will use the 'Canon' for my walk around lens . . . it is so versatile, lol. Thanks to you both.

Another great shot. Now I wonder what is just on the other side.
