So I have the ST-E2, 580EX II, and 430EX for my 50D and arsenal now. I've been reading around and according to Kelby a set of Impact stands, adpaters/swivels, and translucent umbrellas seems to be the best way for me to go. This will be for a studio setting and portable for weddings and portraits.

Anything you all would recommend? I also need a reference for a good backdrop setup.

After buying a good amount for flashes and lenses, I'm not looking for the best but what will be good to go for a little bit until we can afford the pricey stuff.

Provided you are always in an environment where IR signals will work, you should be in pretty good shape with what you have listed...

If you find yourself moving outdoors frequently, give a look at Pocket Wizards, SkyPorts or other RF triggers.

Great! It look like the Scott Kelby Location Kit will be my choice. Just a good backdrop setup and I'll be good. Looking at this one?
