Mine hangs pretty low. I was think of slapping some velcro on it and the poll. Anyone come up with a creative idea they wanna share?
Thanks

I use the bongo ties that came with the strobist pack i got when i first started. I just tie them right to the side of the flash
This is what they look like:

I went to the craft store and bought some small organza bags....

They hang by the tie on the bags.

I thought about that but decided I would need velcro on anything I wanted to hang the unit on too. I would end up with a velcro covered world....

Don't knock it... my kit lives in a velcro covered world. Better than having accessories dangling all over the place when you're moving a light stand.

OP, that's a beautiful Jotul stove...you've had it for a while, yes? I grew up with one exactly the same. I usually loop the cord around one of the knobs on the stand.

-Bongo ties: $5.99 for 10pack at microcenter or ebay
-cabinet liner: $3 at walmart
-twisty ties: one red cent
1. cut cabinet liner to fit space between cybersync and flash.
2. wrap cord with twisty ties
3. sandwich cabinet liner between cybersync and flash and attach with bongo ties
4. allow enough wire slack for flash to fully rotate and bend forward

I put velcro on the battery compartment of both the flash and cybersync. That allows me to use accessories on the flash head and still access the sync port.

Here is what I use...
This is the wrist strap from my kid's Wii controller. It goes under the batteries and around the clasp of the back. I have ordered some black ones on ebay. I get 5 for $5.95. No drilling. Just open the back insert the small nylon thread, snap the cover back on and you're done. The slider on the wrist strap provides a little bit of sizing control too.
Very simple and very cheap and easily hangs on the light stand or whatever. Works great!

+1 for velcro. But thinking about that strap and how it would hold the 580EX better than velcro...likely not.
Don't tell Paul or he'll come up with a well priced accessory system...wait that's Mr. Tapes that is the king of that. Kudos to Mr. Tapes.

Yup, I edited and added some info. Check ebay. I think getting 5 black straps for $5.95 is a no-brainer. And "installation" took about 10 seconds!
I was just walking through the game room and saw the Wii controller sitting there with the strap and the idea hit me. He doesn't need it anyway since one of the controllers is in his Guitar Hero guitar.

No, the Cybersyncs don't come with that hand cord. They do come with a cord to connect the receiver to a PC port on a flash/hotshoe and a cord to connect the receiver to the AB strobes (mini plug on both ends?).

Have you all seen the new Cyber Commander and Cybercync+ announced over at PCB's site? Look very useful.

Those straps are called Lanyards BTW, you can find them on the web in many different varieties, shapes and sizes.

Actually the transmitter goes on the camera and the receiver attaches to your flash. Your 430EX has no PC attachment so you will need a hotshoe to PC unit like this: http://www.flashzebra.com/hotshoes-shoes/0065.shtml

I notice that the new Cybersync+ has a loop built in for a lanyard. Seems like they were listening :)
