Has anyone had any experiences with these?

Looks like a basic non-TTL flash.

As long as it's in working order, has a manual option & is large enough to fit on your lens you shouldn't have any problems. If the auto TTL functions don't work, it's no hardship to work by calculating f-stops & using the histogram to check exposure, after all it's only really good for close-ups.

I have used a Sunpak ring flash on a Canon digital: Set to full manual the unit has a sliding calculator for exposure. Just bear in mind this type of RF is too small to be much use for anything more than close-up work.
