I've just purchased a second hand D60 and heard mention of potential software problems with this camera. Is this true and, if so, is there anything I can do about?

Mine's been working just fine ever since I got it new. Can you be more specific about what you heard? problems in the camera proper? In the supplied software (Zoom Browser, Remote Capture, PhotoStitch, PSE)? How it behaves with specific operating systems?

mine has been a workhorse ... up until the shutter went. getting it fixed now.

The guy I spoke to said he had one of the early models which developed problems, (mis-reading the light, not taking pictures and taking blank pictures), within the firmware. He was advised by canon that it was common for that particular camera/software.

They've released firmware updates - the latest one is 1.0.4.

My old D60 is like the Energizer bunny. No problems.

Used one for a couple of years with no problems, what is the firmware version?
