I just bought an Ixus 40 - (wonderful toy!) and got problems with the drivers for Windows 2K and XP: I get the error message (code 31) that the driver can't be loaded - the connection with the camera for downloading pictures is thus not established. I have tried all the usual thing (uninstallig and updating the driver, reinstalling programs etc) but the problem still remains. What more can I do now?? I'm beginning to feel desperate....

You should probably uninstall the camera from the Device Manager, disconnect all other devices (webcams, scanners, printers, etc.), then restart your computer. Finally, connect the camera again to reassociate the twain driver. This may work. Otherwise, you may need to delete the camera's VID key from the registry.
