Good Man CONK:
Two of my bus buddies are busy gathering their ground sheets an sleeping bags, and soon they will set out to a darkened sky site. I may pass. I have watched the August showers -- miniscule sparklers-- on many an occasion.
But my big bag was one nite, about 10 years ago. I stepped onto the deck around 10 pm, "sensed" increased light overhead and in a slow look up (why time permitted I do not know) I saw an orange fireball the size of a small moon race across the sky.
I called the Dominion Observatory hoping that it would be named after me. Although no one else had reported it, it was apparently quite common, and not to be a Leigh. Not to be forgotten either.
Good luck to you ont eh west coast. I think that I will head out for a half houd on my Fischer "shorts"!

Any tips on camera settings for a D-60. I live at about 3500 ft elevation and have a mountain behind my house to drive up so that I can get a good open view. I would like to use my 15mm fisheye.
