Hello all,
I only have the software that came with my XTi to use. DPP. To convert to monochrome I simply select monochrome in the picture style on DPP. I shoot in raw. Is this an acceptable way of converting to B&W? Is there a better way with DPP?
Thanks,

I think that would be an acceptable place to start. In DPP you could then adjust the brightness & contrast to your liking & should end up with a nice B&W image. I would definitely consider this approach if I didn't have any other image editing software.

There are also photo filters built into DPP...you can change them and see how it changes the B&W.

Thanks. I have used them. I just wanted to know if there was a better way to do it.
