I am wanting to mount a Canon FD lens onto a Canon EOS body. I have found an adapter on the B&H website, but I have heard that the 1.3X conversion decreases quality. I am looking to get the best quality I can, and I think there is a another way to mount this lens on the EOS body. I heard somewhere a while ago that using two adapters might work, something called a M24 or something similiar. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

Hi Jam010,

welcome to the forum!

take a look at this thread here: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=57023

It should answer your question.

In a nutshell ... if you want the best quality, you don't use Canon FD lenses.
For technical reasons, they don't work on EOS without an optical adapter that degrades image quality.
A little ... if you manage to get the original Canon one (very rare) or a lot, if you use one of the junk adapters for sale on eBay.

Pick one of the other manual focus lenses that are very much in supply on eBay
... M42 ... Nikon ... Medium Format ...
Those can be used with a non-optical adapter.

Best regards,
Andy
