View Full Version : Input Requested: Sigma 2x TeleConverter APO EX Lens f/Canon AF USA Tele

I got a Sigma 100-300 f4.0 for my Canon D20. I did order me the 1.4 Teleconverter. Can anyone give me some feedback on the 2x. Here's the questions I have: How many stops would it reduce the 100-400 f4.0 too (the 1.4 is supposed to be 1 stop); How well (clarity of edges) would you expect this set up to work?

The 2x TCs cost you 2 stops so you will no longer have autofocus capability on the 20D. There will be a noticeable degradation in image quality.

Thank You so much. I believe I'll stick with the 1.4 for now. The link to the Sticky is great. It will be very helpful in the future. (Can you tell I'm still a newbie? - No idea how I got to move from Junior Member to Member....Haven't figured out all the "get-arounds" in the forum yet, but I'm working on it)
