I was out with my Elph s200 last week taking pictures of a touch football game.

I manually adjusted the ISO to 400. In addition, I used the optical and digital zoom combination. The resulting pictures were very noisy and grainy.

What did I do wrong? What is the best way to take action shots and zoom with the camera? Is there a way to work with the shots in a photo editor to eliminate the graininess?

Thanks.

Try lowering your ISO settings, high ISO setting while good for multi weather conditions tends to make pics grainy.

Also avoid using digital zoom esp when taking pics of moving object or in this case people, this tends to blur things up. See if you can increase you shutter speed manually that should reduce blur as well.
