It comes standard with a Canon battery provided you buy it through a legit retailer. Some online retailers try to lure you with ridiculously low prices and then tell you it's for the camera only, at which point they want to charge you for items that come standard in the kit, including the battery, charger, strap, software, and so forth.

They are a rip off, do not buy from A&M. Deal with a retailer with a good reputation, like B&H.

It does come with a battery

But it doesn't come with a memory card (not that I expected it to), I just didn't think about that part when I bought mine.

Check www.resellerratings.com before you buy anything!!!

Take a look at what other customers of AM photoworld have to say there.... very informative

Anyone know about this 20D deal from Dell? http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=A0399222

Ends up at $1305. Good/ bad? When my Fed return gets here, I"m thinking of snapping one up.

Thanks

Sounds pretty good to me. Dell is certainly a reputable "dealer" ... when you can find a good deal.

It comes with 1 battery but I bought an extra one. No memory card is included.

Yea memory cards are one of the things Canon didnt throw in with their DSLRs, I remeber this being the first thing I noticed when I got my Drebel upgrading from a Canon G3, but that was ok seeing as I already cards from the G3. I Think canon feels why waste money supplying a small memory card when most people in the DSLR market are most certainly going to be buying either new larger, or new faster cards.

That's exactly what I thought when I unpacked the 32MB CF card that came with my G2 (holds about 8 RAW shots  )
