Hi all - I know this race was some time ago now, but I've only just had the chance to upload some pictures. I tried to get some unique shots but it was really hard to capture any 'action' because of the fences - and generally most of my pictures came from practice sessions because of the crowds.
It was a really great weekend - and there were loads of great opportunities for photos in Singapore. Not only was there the race itself but there were some good music shows afterwards not to mention the sights of Singapore including the zoo! I had walk about tickets to the race, and although it was busy you could feasibly walk everywhere and get shots from different corners. Sadly there were a lot of fences, and if I had a slightly longer lens (I was using a 70-200 f4) then I wouldn't have had a problem at all.
In general I was shooting at f4, and usually around 1200-1600 ISO (on a 30d). As a result the pictures are a bit noisy, but I was surprised that any came out at all!

Another shot during F1 Practice. One of the Toyotas (I'm not sure which) was attacking the kerbs really aggressively

You could wait outside the paddock before the F1 sessions each day and you would see many of the drivers turning up. Here we have Fernando Alonso and Nelson Piquet arriving - amusingly they were practically running to avoid their fans - in fact they wouldn't sign anything. Could do with being sharper, but I like it as I think it's funny!

Here's an overhead shot. Uniquely you could board the singapore flyer (it's like the London Eye) to get a view of the circuit from the air. Absolutely awesome

A view of the Pit Straight from the flyer

A view of the marina bay from the flyer. I was disappointed not to get any cars in these shots

In the support paddock before the Aston Martin Asia Cup. These cars sounded fantastic!
