Hello Guys,
Just wondering if anyone has the "DELL 3008WFP 30" Monitor" and what their experiences are with this monitor..
I was thinking of buying this monitor to do my photography work (photoshop, lightroom .. editing etc) but wanted to hear from anyone who owns or has been using one of these first..
Also if you are a pc user, like myself will I be better off buying this monitor or the Apple 30" Cinema Display? why?
Many Thanks.. ;)

Right.. no responses.. but never mind.. I managed to get a good deal with them .. will be assembled in a few days and shipped out brand new from dell factory with 3 yr warranty.. on the website it was £1, 153.00 but managed to get it for exactly £1,000.00 after haggling with the guys on the phone for ages.. ;)

Guys,
just needed to ask a quick question .. for example on Dell monitors I read in forums people say "if its a REV 02" than its ok.. etc..
My question is what does the REV 02 mean and whats the difference.. Second question is how could you tell what revision it is ? Device manager? or does it say it on the monitor or box?
Many Thanks..

Dell's part numbers are clearly marked with the Rev number somewhere nearby. Usually it just means there was an update to the inner hardware for some reason to fix some issue.
It should be on the sticker on the rear of the monitor.

That's a big monitor to get to play on. I have a Dell 22" that is very nice. Good luck with your purchase.

You may have to attach the stand, but it should be a simple clip in type thing in the rear - I think I had to on my 3007...but it's been a year since I set it up so I don't recall.

30" is kind of large at first as a desktop - but I have that along with a 20" at the side as well. I use the 20" for non-color critical stuff - web browsing, IM, that sort of thing. (Though LR2's multi-monitor support I need to get the 20" calibrated now...haha)
You get used to it after a while but you may have to push it back farther than normal.
Might have to increase your mouse speed! I was pretty big into PC gaming when I was younger so I am used to controlling a mouse with a high speed - I can move it anywhere on my 30" just moving my fingers around with my wrist planted in the same spot. But that may be way fast for some people.
