I see most people on here looking for a lightweight tripod but that is not the case for me. I would have no problem lugging around a rather heavy tripod as long as it's pretty sturdy. I don't need a really fancy one because my main use out of it is just still shots. But I do need it to be able to support a gripped 5D with possibly a 70-200 on the end of it. My budget is going to be around $200. I've read a good bit about tripods on here recently but nobody seems to be mentioning making a sacrifice and going with the heavier one. So, any help is appreciated.

The frequently-recommended Manfrotto 055 Pro B and 488RC2 head will meet your needs. No reason to avoid a lightish tripod if it'll do the job.

Yeah I understand that. I am hoping to sacrifice weight for expense though.

You can't go wrong with the combination Jon suggested.

Got a link? I see a lot of different ones on B&H but they seem a bit out of my price range.

Won't get any cheaper than that.

This combo Jon?

I guess it isn't too far out of my price range.

Yep. That's a good one. If you don't need that much height (don't count the center column), you could go with the 190/488RC2 combo. It's a few inches lower and about $30-$40 cheaper. If you'd need the center column to get your height, though, you're compromising the support you want from a tripod. So figure that if you can live with an eye level viewfinder at around 55" the 190 would work; if you need 60" or more you want the 055.

Well I'm about 6'2" or 6'3" so the height would be a plus. Any other slightly less expensive recommendations?

Nothing else is going to sturdily get you to that height for anything cheaper than the 055x setup..

The Slik 700DX PRO (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/168060-REG/Slik_615_900_700DX_Pro_Tripod_Leg.html) is a very nice tripod for the money. You still stay under $200 adding the Manfrotto 488 without QR or just over with QR.

That's an easy one. Manfrotto 055 Xprob and 488RC2 head. It's the rig I have and while it is heavy it is also stabile and affordable.

Not a bad price. They are rated for the same weight but I can only assume that the Manfrotto one is going to be more sturdy because of the price. The only real specification difference is the minimum height. You have used this tripod?
