I just opened my new Digital Rebel and noticed that when I gently shake it, there is a distinct rattle...it seems to be on the inside, as I have held tight to all moving and potentially moving parts, yet I still hear the sound. I'm freaking a bit. Has anyone else had this kind of experience?
Thanks.

Very normal. It's either the orientation sensor (tells the camera when you're shooting in portrait vs. landscape mode) or the onboard flash assembly. Either way, it's normal for the DRebel.

Yes the to solve the problem.. Get the 20D.. it has a LOT LESS NOISE.

Many thanks. I just discovered that it is the flash assembly. I was unable to check that until I got a full battery charge. Thanks again.

- Yeah, this is one of the freakiest things I found about my DRebel also. IMO, very annoying. I'm not sure if it could have been done better, but that seems very shoddy to me.
