Finishing off 2004 archiving ready for the new season starting in a week or two :D . Came across these shots that I thought I would post up here. The 2 bike shots were panned at 1/250s and the cars at 1/60s using a Canon 10D and 70-200mm f4 L lens.
Any feedback appreciated.

Nice :) I like the bike shots.
From a personal point of view, it's a shame that you titled the camera for the car shots. That's one of my pet hates I am afraid. Very well executed though!
I know some people like that kind of shot... it's just not my thing.

Someone following me around Croft and Harewood? :)

The car shots were taken at that angle for a reason. They were taken at Harewood Hillclimb, for use in event programmes and on their website. The design of the programmes has a diaganol line across the front cover, and I was asked to try and get something that would fit in with that line - idea being to acentuate the fact there's a hill to climb I guess. The Westfield shot had too much of an angle, but the other shot was about right. That picture wasn't used, but another one of that car on that corner on a different run was.
Thanks for the comments.
Cheers,
Simon.

Hi Ken. Our paths have crossed at both Croft and Harewood during 2004, and hopefully will again this year. You at the Rallycross next weekend?
Cheers,
Simon.

Hi Simon, depends if it is on. There were doubts that they could get enough entries to run it.
Don't know if I'll bother with Harewood for the centre this year now that Pat isn't doing The Times. I'll do it for Startline (got a front page for Harewood last season), but I am not keen on the new style/format for The Times so I'll probably put my efforts elsewhere. Bit of a shame as I'm less than ten minutes away.
Cadwell, just dropped you a PM by the way. Yes I read that. Croft has lived with the same problem for years. Rich hooray henry's moving into their designer houses built 50 years after the circuit was opened moaning about the noise. The circuit is stil going with the only condition being that they can't start until noon on Sunday's so they don't upset the church folks. I have offered to swap one of the hooray henry's my nice house in a delightful leafy suburb of Leeds for their's next to the circuit, but no takers.

It's happening all over Ken. The world is going crazy. They actually started a Thruxton style "church break" at Silverstone last year for the first time.

according to Steve Gibson they have enough enteries to run so I'll probably see you and Simon there next week.
Off to sunny Bournemouth now for the Sunseeker rally, I think maybe they should change the name:rolleyes:

Nice shots, great focus. I really like that lens too. I was checking one out in the camera shop last week and I really thought it was nice balanced package and tac sharp. I really considered buying it, but I fear that it would not get enough use to warrent the purchace. I liked the feel of it better than the 2.8

Hi Ian, I have had an e-mail from Claire at Croft to say if they don't get the season media passes from the printers before the rallycross she will send me a one for access to that event. So, I'll see you there for sure.
Now has confirmation of all my media passes for this season, five of the blighters!
