Should I buy A canon 1d (4.5 MP) for $500? Is the sensor the main difference between the newer ones? It's a used model.

Price seems to be to good to be true, used price usually is $1600 & up.

I'm working on finding out more details. But assuming that everything is OK and the camera is in good condition, what would you say? 4.5 MP is fairly small, but the image quality will be many times better than my canon S60 I'm guessing. --Bobby

If it's in good condition, it's a steal at $500. I debated 20D vs 1D before settling on the 20D, but if I had a chance to get a good 1D for $500 I would have went the other way.

The 1D is still a Very capable camera & a lot better in many ways than my 10D.
So if everything is in the up & up, Heck Yeah!

I'm on the same level as RFM, if it's online, then it's a scam..........even an old 1D is more expensive then a new 20D. 500 bucks? I dont think so......................

BTW, yes based on performance alone, the 1D is a better camera then the 20D and has a pretty big advantage, but newer sensor technology is in the 20D, which is the 20D's big advantage........
