Well about as close to new as possible - just received my "Factory Demo" 10D from Cameta Camera in Amityville NY. It was an Ebay Auction with a "Buy it Now" for $799. Super great service from these guys - Paid Monday, shipped yesterday and arrived today! Got the complete body kit with a 1 yr warranty. I had ordered the lens ( A used EF 28-70 3.5-4.5 ll) seperately - since it did not ship with the body I decided to pick up a new EF 50 mm 1.8 ll on the way home! Battery is charging now - I can't wait!
Really am impressed with the size and feel of this unit- I tried the Rebel at Best Buy and it just didn't feel right for me. I never saw a 10D "live" didn't realize how big it was!
Any way pics should be coming soon!

The 10D is the best in terms of feel for a consumer dSLRs. It feels better then both the rebel and the 20D, it has a perfect size and weight. You will really enjoy this camera.
Cheers.

I tried out a friends 10D and loved it. I used it to shoot a soccer game and had a blast taking pictures. When I tracked the subject right, the pictures came our very nice. I bought the 20D because I liked the faster shooting rate and quicker turn on time. But the 10D is a very nice camera too.
Have fun with it!!!

Wow! Cannot believe how much faster this is than my S1 or other P&S cameras that I have used! I still have to get use to the interface & settings - but here are a few shots of my daughter- camera set on auto with flash - wow, finally some bokeh! Really liking the 50mm 1.8 too!

Put "learn how to process raw" next on your "to do" list, right after "memorize the manual".

Congrats on the 10D. And I ageee with Persian-Rice that in terms of handling the thing just rocks. I was sorely tempted by the 20D, but there's just something about the 10D that feels right. Even if it's slower by every measure, you put an L lens on it and you feel like you're ready to shoot in a warzone.

Welcome to the world of dslr... I own a Pro1 & recently added a 10D to the collection. The Pro1 hasn't left the camera bag since. Gotta love how fast the focus is!! I got a 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM for my first lens & I'm looking at a 70-200mm f/4.0L for my second. The 10D has opened up a whole new level of photography for me. Have fun with the 10D... I know I am!!!
