Why didnt you just edit the original post to include all three posts in one?
Anyways, based on your gear and some of you samples in your gallery, i think you are almost to the point of charging for portraits.
Since this apears to be your first portait session i would'nt charge $400/2 hours. I would establish a simple fee for meeting up to a certain amount of time such as $100 up to 6 hours and $25/hour after that.
I would write up a price list with prices that you find reasonable for prints. Also write up a contract with the photoshoot details included.
Once you establish yourself as a good portrait photog, then you can charge higher prices. You have to start small.

I have to agree, $400 sounds kinda steep. I would also be careful about promising a specific number of prints, what if you don't have enough pictures that are high quality? I think its more difficult to have a set number going in when you're only working with 3 people. I could be wrong, I haven't been doing this long enough...but, you might want to be more specific about the poses...for example...2 poses for each individual, 2 poses of the 3 of them and 2 poses of the couple..
I think I've seen prices in the $250 range for a 2 hr location shoot with minimal prints provided, then they can buy all the other prints that they want at your price, and you can sell a CD of low-res images with all of the pictures for them to use on the computer and to email.
Just my 2 cents!

that's sounds more reasonable. also means i will be the one responsible for all the prints included on the price right? like for example 3 8x10 and 10 4x6 is included in the $250.
