on the LCD screen when using my Tamron lens stated below in my signature.
Yesterday, I accidentally dropped it on the pavement, only knew about it when I heard an almighty crashing sound behind me, worked ok, up until now, when I was doing some trick photography with it. Could it be doomed from the accident? Or is this just dirty contacts?

It could be dirty contacts but chances are that if it worked fine before the fall and now doesn't probably the fall killed it. You said it worked "OK" before? Any error 99's

Phew, saved myself at least £70 on a new Tamron or another unnecessary lens by cleaning the contacts, thanks

To tell you the truth, I am fearing the worse, regarding the Tamron lens. The AF motor seems a lot slower than when I first had it:p

400 It is funny "well not really" But I have a friend that is having the exact same problem. He also said the Tamaron seemed to slow down alot. He did not tell me about the error99 but he had said he was having issues and feared his camera was the problem. He changed lenses and everything is fine.

I originally thought I had damaged it due to dropping it on the pavement, though it did work straight after it. The next day, it just didn't work after I attempted to take a shot with it, just went straight to Err99. After posting it here, I decided after some time to clean the contacts on the lens. I did try my other lens, which suggested it was a fault with the Tamron in question.
But now, I do believe it has slowed immeasurably, to now annoy me when I want to take a photo, obviously, everyone would expect a fast focus on the subject. Ok, I am not using it for an event at the moment that requires quick focusing. I can't keep using the 18-55mm for all eternity, due to the fact, if I saw someone famous, I would have to get up reasonably close for any kind of interest, to the annoyance of the person. OK, she/he would probably cause a scene and probably damage the camera, plus lens, and therefore compensation would be required from them.....errrr, maybe a good idea....watch this space:lol:
