Hi everyone :)
So just bought myself a Hoya cir. polarizer filter.
My question is, would i still need to use a UV filter under it? When shooting in the day time with harsh sun lights or with just normal lighting outside.
Or would this polarizer effectively take care of that?
Now what happens if i accidentally leave this filter on during night time? Would all my photos turned out bad? Or what will happen. Just curious thats all.
Thanks for the help :)

You never really need a UV filter, since a dSLR sensor has a UV filter on it.
Polarizers take care of removing reflections, or intensifying the sky which is at an angle to the sun position.
If you leave a polarizer in place all the time, it eats up as much as -2EV of light, so you don't want to use it when light is dim.

Anyways thanks once again :)Stacking filters is just asking for image degradation due to flare, poor contrast, etc. Don't do it unless it's absolutely necessary for creative purposes - such as two neutral density filters stacked because one would not be dark enough.

polarizers won't affect pictures in the dark at all, just lower you shutter speed ~2 stops

I never stack filters either. It's gotten to the point now that I only put a filter on if the weather is bad or the sun is really bright. But we all have our way with lenses, don't we? :)
