Drove like mad, last night after work to get there in time for these.
Do you think it was worth it?

I suspect that the first one would be a killer image as a panoramic shot.
The colors in the second are awesome.
Whereabouts in CR were these taken?

Thanks, bud. You and me only, seem to appreciate them ;)
These were taken in a 5 min . window of time , from the hills east of San Jose. About 10 miles from the city. The place is called "Cascajal de Coronado"

I really like the colors in the second one. The first one isn't bad, but like a lot of landscapes seem to look cooler when you are there. I usually try to incorporate some sort of detail in the foreground, that leads the viewer into the picture. Texture, reflection, reptition, or even a log or something that draws you into the background.

It's hard to believe that these were both taken within minutes of each other. Great shots, both.

I like both.
Did you use a filter for the 2nd?

The second photo is really good. I think it'd be even better if you crop the top 1/3 of the image off to make it panoramic. It will also help the focal point of the image by removing all that empty space.
