Wrinkles, memories, happiness, sadness. All in one word: The title says it all...

I love this shot Fer
it's a wonderful photo
even if he is homeless he looks happy enough .
nice jacket etc
you caught a great expression
I like the colour in this instance because it shows more then the dull black and white lifestyle which maybe would have shown him in a different 'light'

I've got what may seem like a stupid question...
Downtown San Diego has a bit of a homeless population. When I do go down there (not too often), I'm not one of the people giving them money.
In an instance like this, though, I'd suspect it would be, for lack of a better word, customary to throw the guy a few bucks.
True?

Bruce,
Thanks a lot for your warm words.
Geeeyejo,
Yes, it does and he also has lots of stories to tell. Thanks for looking at.
Marie,
Thanks for your kind comment. I also prefer the color version. Nevertheless, here you have the B&W version for comparison purposes.

thomascanty,
Thank you. I agree with you: His face has everything to tell.
Steve,
Well, I'm not the kind of person who gives them money. I believe they deserve much more than that. In this case, I spent about half an hour chatting with him. He told me several stories about how his life has been so far. Touching, I can tell you. At the end I bought a nutritive and delicious lunch for him and enjoy, for a few minutes, the way he was enjoying his meal.

Fer! very nice photo. I must say that I like the color one better. I like his skin tone. Maybe if you increased the contrast of the B&W? It may be just me, but it looks a little flat.

I always wonder where they've been (years ago) and where they're going. This guy somehow looks like he has managed to accept his plight. But who knows? Is he in Bogota?

I like both shots Fer
the black and white and the colour.
lovely detail. glad to see both and to hear the story
it's very obvious that he enjoyed your chat and your gift of the meal
(probably the jacket too ?)

I really like the B&W image. Somehow, it just looks more "urban"...

Great portrait, Fer. Both versions are nice, but I almost always prefer color, and do this time. Glad you were able to add some meaning and sustenance to his life, even for a short while.

I think the B&W has a certain edge to it. The color shot looks like it belongs in Time magazine in an article about the homeless. The B&W looks like it belongs in your portfolio. Hope that makes sense.
