First time attempting to shoot high-speed drag cars. Here are my best shots:

I think the sky is pretty washed out in the first two. A polarizing filter would fix that wouldn't it?

Those are a few really cool shots!

I really like the detail and crispness of the last image.
A polarizing filter might help a little bit. You could try turning your contrast down on the camera a bit more, that might help.
Otherwise, awesome pictures!
