Found this on an LJ Photography community... hopefully this doesn't mess up orders. They have my Tamron lens for replacement. :-\

Thoughts:
It looks like only one minor injury - Good.
I hope no pending orders (especially from POTN members) are affected.
I think CDS must have written the copy (its a soldering iron, not sauldering iron).
I'll be watching - Fire Sale!
Have Fun,

There is a thread going over at FM, and someone said they talked to B&H on the phone today. Word is that it was the same building, but actually the business next door that caught fire.
Could be smoke and water damage. Usually, when these things happen the insurance company pays off and they get the merchandise. Then they sell it off to a closeout store. Hmm, too soon to tell whether there's a silver lining in this cloud...

UPS just delivered my 300 f/2.8L about a half hour ago. It doesn't 't smell like smoke, although I have no doubts Mrs. Belmondo is going to flame my backside when the credit card bill comes in.

Hrm I'd probally be the first person in line for a White L Lens, I mean those white L lens are protected from dust, water, and weather and what not arnt they?

No. Some L lenses are, but not all. For example, there are three 70-200mm L lenses but only the most expensive f/2.8L IS is sealed. And the rear is not sealed unless connected to the camera. There is a rubber gasket that sits flush with the lens mount.
And not just the white ones. Some of the smaller black lenses are, as well.
