So we had a pretty lengthy discussion of ultimate on here a while ago, I shot this weekends tournament. This is the Appalachian State Nomads vs. the App State Alumni. Alumni won, 15-11
20D with 300 f/4 non-IS. Manual exposure, AI Servo, 1/3200 ISO 200, @ f/4. I usually shoot a bit darker but thought lightening them up a bit would be a fun change of pace.
C & C please!

not bad... I like the second one.. I think that I would have rather seen some more action shots...
over all Id give you a 4 out of 5

Thanks for the critique, I didn't shoot too long and I agree I would love to have some more action shots. I had never shot a prime that long for ultimate, I need some practice :)

I was actually surprised by the sharpness. I seem to get quite a bit of abberations with that lens. The straight raw file they weren't tack sharp, but some very minimal unsharp mask and they really got some punch.

Was the first picture a handblock? That's a pretty tough one to catch on camera.
I agree with canonnoob, I'd like to see more action. It's fine to get some shots of them throwing but the most exciting photos are when they're jumping for the disc, or even better, laying out for it!
pretty good for first time using a prime though, bet that must've been hard to keep up with the disc movement.

Nah wasn't a full out handblock, the guy didn't release.
I know I wanted a lay out shot so bad! And guess what....not a single one!
Keeping up with the disc wasn't horrible because they were mostly doing end cuts off the stack so I knew what was coming, with some horizontal thrown in. But when they got down towards my side it got a little tough.
