I'm going to be buying a new camera soon, and was wondering what you guys thought of these. Im leaning more to a rebel, but am open to any thoughts or suggestions you may have.

Which is better in your opinion, why?

Which is the best all around?

Thanks a lot,
Mike

The new Rebel XT sure looks to be alot of Camera for not a ton of DSLR cash, I'd hold out and buy one of those.

Else, the original digital Rebel is going to be very cheap soon.

Rather than saying what you should good, maybe you need to express what you need, what you are going to shoot, etc, thats the best way to know what you need to get, not just which one is the 'best' when we dont even know what you need it to be the best at.

the best all around for under 1500 bucks would be the 20d.

The 20D will be the best, the Rebel XT will be the best value. I suggest you forget the 10D or 300D unless money is a real issue.

I do a lot of landscape shots, and am starting to get into portraits a bit. Id liek to stay within the 1000 dollar range, so nothing over 2000. I'll check into that new rebel.

Is it even out yet?

Thanks for the responces.

Get the rebel XT, I think it comes out next month. It seems to be extremely close the 20D(on paper) and will leave you enough money to buy you a really good lens.

It's also lighter! :-)

Do you recommend that I buy a new lense? Or keep the one that comes with the camera. I have no idea how good the one that comes with it is.

Thanks again,
Mike

That isnt always a good thing, I like heavy equipment. As Boris the Blade says, "heavy is a sign of reliability. I always go for reliability, and if it doesnt shoot you can still hit them over the head with it". hahaha I love that quote.
