Hi folks...

I shot my first portait this week for a friend's daughter. My primary area of photographic interest happens to be rodeos, and western sport events... People? Uh... I dunno... I've just never shot posed portraits...

"mom" talked me into shooting for her, and the kid was great, I was a nervous wreck. It was 35 degrees when we did this, the girl wanted HER senior portraits taken on their farm, not in a studio.

We'll be going out in a couple of weeks to shoot again, horses will be groomed, and she wants images with them, and that crazy dog (he is a great little guy!).

The images, if you don't mind taking a peek and critiquing, are at:

Thanks,

nina

Overall I think you did a fine job on the portraits, however the lighting isn't the best. I would try to keep background highlights out of the frames, because they draw the eyes there. Another thing that really takes some time to get the hang of is posing that looks natural and astetecially pleasing. Check out some of the posing tips on the Web. You doing great though, keep at it.

Me too, haven't had a paying cutomer in a couple of weeks so I need to go get a part time job I guess, but then I might miss out on something here in my cozy little home.
