It's a lovely shot with what looks to me like a full tonal range. I like it. At first I thought it was IR. It's very nice as is, but I think a couple in the distance holding hands strolling toward the camera would add some interest.

Try cropping out the busted stump in the foreground and see what happens.
Also try a slight dark vignette to bring your eye down the path.

Thank you both for the feedback. This was an image I took a week ago, but didn't like it once I got home.

I hear what you're saying about the people as points of interest. I find myself waiting for people to leave the scene before I shoot it because I feel like they muck it up. I'll have to break that mold, and identify scenes that can be improved with people in them. Thank you.

As for cropping the dark stump, well that's the piece I like :) I think the stump contrasts with the bright path to create a yin and yang feel. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I love that stump too, though perhaps it should stand out on its own a bit more... i.e. no have another trunk behind it. But anyway, I love the picture.

I like the stump too. Perhaps just slightly more on the contrast would make the rest of the picture pop more? It's a nice shot regardless.

Hummm not working for me. When you see fall leaves you want to see the fall colors.

I agree about fall colors.although maybe a desat would have given you the same effect without losing all the hue?

What about trying this shot in sepia as apposed to B&W???

Can we see the color version?

There is 2 subjects here. My eye wants to go down the path and also the weight of the stump clashes a little with that. Having given my "critique" I like the image, maybe a little busy but I like it.
