I love the title of this thread. I did something I rarely do.....laughed outloud. (I smile a lot, but rarely guffaw.)

I found the thread name rather comical as well. hehe...

Hopefully not much was damaged. I'm planning on doing some ordering from them next month. D:

I think the price of Canon 580EX's just went down . . . perhaps this was a deal so hot that it could have caused this?

That is a great title. Although the thought of all those white lenses possibly being cooked does bring a tear to my eye.

Me too! :(

Wondered why 36 hours later my order is still 'processing' - B&H is usually quicker than that.

Should a thread be started explaining what the potential problems with overheated equipment might be? How hot can a Canon get and still shoot?

It is indeed a sad day for us photogs. A moment of silence for the lost stuff. :(

It's a National Disaster,. the President is declaring "A State of Emergency"

Bloomberg has asked the Governor to mobilize the National Guard...

Employers around the country are bringing in "grief councilors" to help the many stricken by this tragedy..

The Red Cross, Adorama and 17th St. Photo are donating all the lens cleaner they have in stock,.

Local authorities are not ruling out Arson,. the investigation is focusing on leads that are connected directly with Brooklyn.....

My heart goes out to all who have ordered from B&H recently..

Oh that is really sad! :(

I guess I got very lucky as I just ordered something from them a few days ago and it's already been shipped out and stuff.

Gotta love the title on this!

Oh, well. I have been waiting for Canon to release black versions of 'too white for me' L telefoto zooms, but seems that B&H jumped the gun. Too bad for Sigma...

Really enjoying thread!

For the first time in my life, I almost feel sorry for the insurance company.

NEWS ALERT: It was the billing department that got taken in the blaze . . . all orders taken in the past twenty-four hours, it seems will be free. There is no way to retrieve the information and the shipping documents seem to have vanished as well.

The spokesperson for B&H, taking advantage of the event to put a 'right coast' spin to the ordeal, noted that this will be taken as a charitable contribution to the general public in the next quarter's report and a one time charge would be used with share holders. Looks like the 'other' vendors will now be forced to offer 'free' goods and services to keep pace with the always popular and incredibly efficient B&H.

OMG...I just laughed myself silly at your title.....and the post that said "Fire Sale...get out your credit cards"...soooooo funny. :D But on a slightly more serious note, I feel so much better about all the time I spend perusing through B&H (not to mention drooling) seeing that all of you are doing it too.
I just made a big B&H purchase last Monday and hope the fire has not impacted my lenses and filters from arriving today.

Well, funny title or not, the fire certainly is not good news. I'm sorry a company that has always done their best by me has a problem to take care of now.
