WOW those piercing eyes - great catch and i think her look compensates for the back ground :)

I agree with Kissa. The shallow depth of field brings your attention right on the cat, and putting him in the right third of the frame works well. I thin the trash in the background adds to the whole "neighborhood cat" thing too. And yes, welcome to POTN. Please make yourself at home.
