I will be traveling to Hong Kong and from there I need to get a Visa for Cambodia and Vietnam, it looks like I can get
the Cambodia visa relatively easily online...Vietnam seems to be somewhat
different as it asks you to mail your passport in. The only
alternatives to that that I've found is getting a 'loose-leaf' visa
which only requires you to mail a copy of your passport instead.
Does anyone NOT recommend mailing my passport with only a month before I leave for Asia? Any feedback on getting the loose-leaf visa instead of the regular one?

Just applied for my E-Visa for Cambodia, still gotta get the Vietnam Visa out of the way, anyone?Doesn't look like there are any other alternatives (see here (http://vietnamembassy.us/consular_services/visa_info/)) although you could try one of the passport services (such as here (http://www.passportsplus.com/visa_vietnam.html?gclid=CMvo5_P825YCFQukHgodGxa42w )).

I believe it took me about 2 weeks to be my visa and passport back from the VN embassy when I traveled last year, but that was through my agent so I'm not sure when exactly she sent it out. It was about $85 give or take for my visa.

The consulate fee's page is completely blank. This (http://www.travelvisapro.com/?apply_visa,do.visa_information,to.Vietnam) appears to be current, from a passport services company.

Cambodia you can get a visa on arrival,, bring a few passport photos with you.. Viet Nam is different,, you will have to apply at the Vietnamese Embassy,, it usually takes around 48 hours..

You can get Vietnam Visa (http://www.vietnam-visa.com) through Vietnam Visa Online Service. Apply Vietnam visa online > >Received your Vietnam Visa approval letter within 2 working days >> Get visa stamped at the airport >> save your time and money.
The Vietnam Visa online service that I've used is http://www.vietnam-visa.com
