Hi Everyone,

Went to a motor museum the other day and they had a section with some very old cars and where kids could get dressed up and sit in the vehicles. My 3 years old did not miss the opportunity and I decided to take a few shots (had just received my 55-250 that morning so was experimenting with the camera - nifty fifty on its way soon I think as I really want to do more portrait shot of the kids!!!!).

Now, I am still very new to photography and these shots have not been retouched whatsoever (I want to learn to make good/decent shots first and then to retouch rather than the other way round). TBH, I guess a little sharpening would not harm on this for a start though.

These were taken in a museum with very poor lighting in the section we were in and I only used the built in flash on my 400D (did not have a proper flash at the time).

Comments would be greatly appreciated so I can learn from my mistakes.... Thanks

PS : Also wondering about the quality of the pics when hosted on the net as they do not look as sharp as when I open the original files on my pc - is this normal ?

I'm really confused. I'm not sure if maybe something is wacky with the exif and it's not reading correctly, but the first few say they were taken at f18! Can that be right? I'm looking at those settings and just wondering how on earth that happened. In #5 and #6, you can see the quality improve by quite a bit.

Thats what I see - did you choose F18 on purpose?

Overall, they are underexposed, so you would need to lighten them up.

Finally, smiles would have been good, but thats just me. Whenever I shoot kids, I get them laughing, and am able to catch a good smile.
