Sorry for the gull . . . but I was target practicing with this one and working on a problem in my style. I found one of those "light bulb" threads yesterday regarding shutter speed and ISO. I am just way to old skool. So I doubled my ISO, to 200! With the results . . . I may double it again . . .
For reasons unknown to me I just learned to shoot SLOW. Anything over a shutter speed of 100 is, or was fast for me. ASA/ISO of 100 or nothing . . . not no more. I am going to start shooting 500 to 1000.
This shot of a passing gull was taken at ISO 200, f/10, shutter speed of 800 @ 400mm. I have had this problem with focus (sounds like a AA meeting) and I think it was just me. Shooting slow with shallow DOF . . . what did I expect? Razor Sharp of course. So with faster shutter and a little bigger DOF I think I will be a happy boy. The threads are worth reading 'round here. I think it worth the time to include your settings and equipment if one can. This is helpful for others . . .
