My son's just started his first season of interclub tennis. I'm trying to get some interesting pics of his matches. Here's a couple I quite like from his first few. Any tips from experienced tennis phototakers? I seem to be getting a lot of the same sort of photo. Thanks Andrew

I like the second shot. Maybe shoot with less depth of field so the background isn't as distracting though (the person picking up the ball in the back)?

As for different looks, I suggest you look at other tennis photos if you want some ideas.

Thanks T2000. Yes the background is a pity as I was pleased to get the shot. It was at f5. Unfortunately I can only get down to f4 with the longer lens I've got. Not sure how much difference that would make.

I took a look at your site, fantastic. A pity down here in Wellington we don't get to see any pro tennis like this. Went to Aussie Open years ago, but before I had a decent camera.

photo's about most people doing sports need a camara stance about hip hight ! so no good here
