I chased this red one around for ever to get this shot. I think it is some sort of moth. It had blue iridescent dots on top of its abdomen. I had never saw one before but it was beautiful. Both insects are from Louisiana to help identify. I looked on the web but couldn't find anything.

First time to see this one as well. It would not stop moving but seemed comfortable next to my daughter's bracelet. Maybe it thought it was with its own kind.

I personally think the second one is a Zygogramma piceicollis. (http://bugguide.net/node/view/202347/bgpage) Definitely a Zygogramma spp. in general, but you may want to submit it to bugguide.net for verification.

The only thing I can identify is the female wrist with bracelet. Perfect pairing on that one!

It was amazing. The colors were much more vivid in person. In my photo it looks kinda orange but it was a very rich red. One of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I saw it flying very far away and chased it for 5 minutes before it would land.

Because to me the moth was so special I thought I would show a few more of him. The pics are not great but I doubt I will ever see one again.

Thanks everyone. To me these shots were not up to par. I was just so amazed by the red clear wing moth I had to share.
Elizabeth, my shots are not great but I learned everything I know from here. I bought a DSLR about a month ago and knew absolutely nothing and still know nothing about photography. I try and I post my pics. If you want to get into macro you need a macro lens or at least some extension tubes. I am just not shy when it comes to sharing what I have captured. They are not great by any means but it makes me happy and I enjoy it. I think truly that is what it is all about, finding something in life that makes you happy and are passionate about. Show us what you have! Until someone says " Isaac, quit posting junk" I will continue to make an a** of myself and take semi decent pictures.Cheers.
