This should be a simple question, maybe even a stupid one, but ...

In the Zoom Browser EX software, when I look at the diagram of the battery under Setup Options > Camera Settings, it has a line about 2/3 the way toward the right. I assume this means the battery is 2/3 empty with 1/3 power remaining. Is that correct? Or does the line 2/3 toward the right mean it is 1/3 empty with 2/3 remaining?
I can't find the answer anywhere in the software book or Help file. And things aren't always as "logical" or intuitive as they should be...

So I ask this dumb question....

I don't know the answer but I can suggest you to find yourself the solution for your problem:
1- full charge the battery, connect to computer and check with zoombrowser where is the line of battery
2- make some photo, reconnect to computer and check the line of battery
3- make many photo, almost discharge all the battery (red blinking icon), reconnect to computer and check line.

In this way, I think, you can understand how must "read" the diagram on zoombrowser.

Hope this can helpl you.

Maybe it just means "check battery" and the position of the line is not a quantitative measure at all.

No, it is an indicator of how much is there, I was hoping someone knew so I wouldn't have to check the battery level at various times to find out...
It is part of the software, not the one in the camera itself which IS just a "battery is running low" indicator. The one in the software is an indicator of how much one has left, I'm pretty sure, but I dont 'know which direction of the battery it considers full or empty... I'd assume bottom to top (neg to pos) but with Asian made electronics, one never knows!
